Garistine is an attorney who has a passion for helping others plan, build, and problem solve. In addition to practicing law, she owns a tax preparation franchise, and she is the co-founder of Faith Consulate, a church where she serves alongside her husband, Ben Simmons. During her career, she has practiced law with the North Carolina Banking Commission, and taught accounting, business law and tax courses at several universities.

I am a daughter, sister, wife, bonus-mom, friend, and business owner. My personal life has allowed me to walk through life circumstances where health concerns, caretaking, and death have significantly impacted individuals and families that were ill-prepared for these life-altering events. My professional life has allowed me to teach accounting, business, and tax principles and implement them in the business that I started and still own. I want to help you leave a legacy. Garistine earned the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from Saint Augustine’s College, the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), and the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees from The Ohio State University and the Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Saint Thomas University.
